The hackathon is open to students from universities across New England. Whether you are of African descent or simply passionate about innovation and Africa, you are welcome to apply
Participants will have access to:
- Jetpack AI and low-code tools (virtual training sessions included)
- A Slack workspace for team collaboration
- Mentors available during the hackathon to provide guidance
- Meals and coffee during in-person days
No, you can register as an individual. If you don’t have a team, we’ll help you find one through our team formation Slack workspace or mixer events
Absolutely! Hackathons are about collaboration. Non-technical skills like design, business strategy, and project management are just as valuable
No, the hackathon is completely free for participants.
That’s perfectly fine! Hackathons are beginner-friendly, and we’ll provide resources like workshops, mentors, and team formation opportunities to help you succeed. It’s a great chance to learn, collaborate, and innovate in a supportive environment.
The in-person portion of the hackathon will be held at the Martin Trust Center at MIT on February 28 and March 1, 2025. Virtual sessions will occur throughout January and February.
The goal is to create something new during the hackathon. Pre-existing projects are not eligible for prizes.
